Brian Bennett is a graduate from the Canadian College of Massage & Hydrotherapy. He has been a registered massage therapist with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario for twenty years with additional post-graduate education in Sports Massage, Medical Exercise Training, Active Release Techniques, Ultrasound/Tens, Kinesio Taping, Myofascial Release, Custom Orthotics, and other related modalities.
Brian is a regular guest speaker at Running Room clinics and is a certified CPR and First Aid Instructor. He has treated some of the world’s top athletes at events such as the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics and the ATP Men's Masters Tennis series.
Brian is an accomplished Ironman triathlete, and runner, having competed in the Ironman world championships in Kona, Hawaii, in 2008. He has competed in 5 Ironman Triathlons, over 50 shorter triathlons, 9 marathons including the 2011 New York City marathon, and is always training for his next race. Brian has been a professional ski patroller for 30 years, a member of the critical incident stress management (cism) team for the ski patrol, and is a former alpine & nordic ski instructor/racing coach who won coach award of merit from the Canadian Ski Coaches Federation. His article on Massage Therapy was published in Alive magazine, a leading Canadian health and wellness publication.

Jennifer Corey ND, RMT, RAc

Jennifer Corey ND, RMT, RAc, has been treating patients for 20 years. Her passion is patient education and helping them create a healthy balance in their lives. Jennifer is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor with specific additional training in pediatrics, fertility, pelvic pain, urinary incontinence, environmental medicine and IV therapy. She will continue utilizing massage therapy and acupuncture while integrating all the benefits of naturopathic medicine. She will assist with fertility; foster healthy pregnancies and postpartum recovery. Jennifer will support parents through childhood illnesses with safe, effective, natural medicine so that children lead a happy and healthy life. She promotes healthy living for the whole family.

Fiona Thomson, B.A. (Hon) CHSC, RMT.

Fiona graduated from Brock University with an Honors degree in Community Health Sciences. Shortly after, she graduated from Canadian Therapeutic College and received the most outstanding clinic and outreach award. She has been practicing massage since 2005, and is certified as a Reflexology Healthcare Practitioner, Labour Support Provider, Hot Stone Massage Therapist and Post Rehabilitation Conditioning Specialist. She has also completed several levels of Reiki. Fiona has had an extensive background in promoting healthcare as well as health and fitness. She previously worked as a Personal Trainer, Pilates and Spin Instructor. Fiona’s interests include participating in fitness model shows, running half and full marathons, and playing rollerderby and most recently hot yoga. She enjoys being challenged and is always up for a little healthy competition. She practices using positive energy towards herself and onto others. Eventually, Fiona plans to broaden her qualifications by taking Acupuncture or Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Lisa Knott RMT

Lisa began her college education in General Arts and Sciences where she focused on biology and anatomy, which led her into the direction of healthcare. After completing Pre-Health Sciences, she decided Massage Therapy was the right direction for her. Lisa then enrolled and graduated from Massage Therapy at Medix School in London, ON. Lisa participates in many sports including soccer, ball hockey as well as fastball. She plans to further her education and qualifications by taking Acupuncture as well as Osteopathy.
Susanna Duerr RMT, CSEP-CPT, BHK
Registered Massage Therapist Available Monday evenings and Sunday.
Susanna studied massage therapy at Sutherland-Chan School and Teaching Clinic where she gained experience treating clients with a variety of conditions. During her final term she worked with clients with spinal cord injuries, various sports injuries, and women dealing with high risk pregnancies.
Prior to her massage therapy training she studied Kinesiology and Psychology at the University of British Columbia, and also obtained her personal training certification through the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiologists (CSEP). Since then she has helped numerous people lose weight, increase physical fitness and improve their overall quality of life. Susanna is also a staff member at the Markham Running Room and is an avid runner and triathlete. To date she has completed two marathons and has qualified for the Boston Marathon. She has also completed various short distance triathlons and is currently training for her first half Ironman distance triathlon.

Dr. Freda Tam ND’s practice is grounded in the belief that individualized care based on addressing the root causes of illness is the key to optimal health. She is passionate about empowering everyone with the knowledge and tools to better understand their health, and to feel their best on the inside and out!
Dr. Tam ND enjoys working with patients of all ages in her family practice, and she has a special interest in digestive concerns, skin and emotional health. With additional training in Neuro Emotional Technique (NET), Applied Kinesiology (AK) and Total Body Modification (TBM), Dr. Tam ND integrates these techniques with naturopathic therapies to create optimal wellness.

Charmaine Lane M.Sc., RP
Charmaine Lane M.Sc., RP, is an experienced client-centered therapist providing counselling and psychotherapy using a holistic approach. She believes that people can heal and grow when given the ability and environment to speak their truth and have it facilitated. She believes that she is merely the facilitator and that each person can find the answers they need.
With over 10 years of experience in the mental health and counselling fields, she has worked with children, adolescent, and adult clients with a wide range of presenting issues including, but not limited to, adjustment disorders, self-esteem, body issues, anxiety, depression, trauma, racial trauma, childhood trauma, grief and loss, cultural identity, gender and sexuality, partner abuse, career and life transitions, immigration, family reunification, as well as relationship and family conflict.
She holds a Master of Science degree in Counselling Psychology and a bachelor’s degrees in Psychology. Her training is from a psycho-social perspective, giving her not only clinical, psychological and emotional insight into people’s behaviors and needs but also, looking through the lens of social determinants and how that contributes to a person’s psychological health. Charmaine is trained in several modalities including but not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solutions Focused Therapy working ensuring an Anti- Oppressive/Anti- Racism framework is utilize in the therapeutic journey with her clients.

Roweena Yeung RMT
Registered Massage Therapist
Roweena is a graduate of Sutherland-Chan School of Massage Therapy and Teaching Clinic. She has worked with a variety of patients with different presenting health conditions including cardiovascular surgery, high risk and healthy perinatal, stroke, senior and healthy active patients. She can provide both treatment-based and relaxation Swedish massage while utilizing techniques such as myofascial release, dynamic release, joint mobilization, trigger point therapy and more. She understands that every patient is unique, their bodies respond differently and therefore, each patient requires a different approach to treatment. Her interest lies in the rehabilitation of her patients to help them return to their daily activities. She is a member of the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO) and the Registered Massage Therapists’ Association of Ontario (RMTAO). Prior to Sutherland-Chan, Roweena graduated with an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology and Health Sciences at York University. She enjoys staying active and is a passionate volleyball player.
Dina Soliman PT
Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist
Dina graduated with a Bachelor of Physical Therapy in 1999, and a Masters of Physical Medicine in 2008. Dina has completed extra training in Musculoskeletal, Cardio Respiratory, and Neurological Therapy, as well as Advanced Manual therapy in upper limb, and lumbo-pelvic conditions.
Dina has several years experience in assisting women with pelvic health, having taken extra courses in treating chronic pelvic pain and visceral release for bladder disfunction.
Dina is a member of the Women's Health division and Orthopedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association
